Analyze the credibility and effectiveness of information presented in a range of texts, including media and digital texts.

Indicators for this outcome
(a) Analyze factors that contribute to credibility (e.g., author expertise, institutional affiliation, purpose, transparency of sourcing) in written, oral, visual and multimodal texts.
(b) Analyze factors that contribute to a lack of credibility (e.g., unclear authorship, lack of expertise, missing source information, obvious bias, lack of transparency, misleading intent).
(c) Examine how organizational structures (e.g., chronological, cause-effect) and text features (e.g., headlines, diagrams) enhance or hinder clarity and relevance.
(d) Evaluate how effectively a text’s tone, word choice or visual elements contribute to audience understanding and message impact.
(e) Assess whether evidence used in a text is sufficient and directly supports the argument or purpose.
(f) Identify how a text includes, excludes or frames information to influence interpretation or understanding.
(g) Explore how personal interest, prior knowledge or bias may shape one's perception of what is relevant or effective in a text.
